\"AppleWith two-factor authentication, you’ll need a verification code to sign in with your Apple ID on a new device or browser.<\/p>\n

When you sign in with your Apple ID on a new device or browser, you’ll confirm your identity with your password and a six-digit verification code. There are different ways you can get a verification code. You can use the code that appears on your trusted device, receive a code via text message or phone call, or generate a code from your trusted device.<\/p>\n

If you’re using iOS 11.3 or later on your iPhone, you may not need to enter a verification code. In some cases, your trusted phone number can be automatically verified in the background of your iPhone. It’s one less stock to worry about. Your account will remain protected with two-factor authentication.<\/p>\n

Use the code that appears on your trusted device<\/h2>\n

1. If you have a trusted device running iOS 9 and later, OS X El Capitan and later, iPadOS 13 and later, or watchOS 6 and later, the verification code is automatically displayed on the trusted device.<\/p>\n

2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password on a new device or browser.<\/p>\n

3. Look for a login notification on any of your trusted devices.<\/p>\n

4. Tap Allow to receive the verification code.Enter the verification code on the other device to complete the login.<\/p>\n

Receive a code via text message or phone call<\/h2>\n

If you don’t have a trusted device nearby, you can choose to have a verification code sent to your trusted phone number via text message or phone call.<\/p>\n

1. On the login screen, click Didn’t receive a verification code?
\n2. Choose the option to have the code sent to your trusted phone number.
\n3. You’ll receive a text message or phone call from Apple with the verification code. This text message may include an additional domain validation line. This line includes the @ symbol, the website name, and the code (for example: @icloud.com #123456 %apple.com).
\n4. Enter the code on the other device to complete the login.<\/p>\n

Get a code from Settings on your trusted device<\/h2>\n

If you can’t receive a verification code on your trusted devices automatically, you can get one from Settings, even if your device is offline.
\nFrom iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch<\/p>\n

If the device is connected:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Go to Settings > [your name].
\n2. Tap Password & security > Get verification code.<\/p>\n

If the device is offline:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Go to Settings > [your name].
\n2. Tap Password & security.
\n3. A message will appear that says Account details are not available. Tap Get verification code.<\/p>\n

On a mac<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Go to Apple menu \uf8ff > System Preferences and click Apple ID.
\n2. Click Password & Security > Get Verification Code.<\/p>\n

If you still can’t log in<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you can’t sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can request account recovery so you can sign in again.
